We Are Imaginary (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/500039/07, trading as Novel (“Novel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect the personal information of our users, including venue merchants, their staff, and customers, when they access and use our venue marketing and booking platform (“the Platform”), our website, registration forms, or any other digital channels we operate.
We process your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and other applicable South African data protection laws.

2. Scope
This Policy applies to all personal information that we process, including:
- Information collected through the Platform (bookings, deposits, gift cards, marketing tools, analytics).
- Information collected from venue merchants during registration and onboarding.
- Information collected from customers who make bookings, purchase gift cards, or interact with the Platform.
- Information collected from website visitors.
- Information shared with or received from third parties who assist us in delivering our services.
3. Our Role Under POPIA
Novel acts in different capacities depending on the type of personal information:
- Responsible Party: for personal information we collect directly for our own purposes, including venue contact person details collected during registration, website visitor data, and data processed for billing, fraud detection, platform analytics, and legal compliance.
- Operator: for customer personal information processed on behalf of venues through the Platform. In this capacity, we process data only on the venue’s documented instructions (via Platform configuration and features), except where processing is required by law. The terms of this processing are set out in the Venue Platform Agreement.
4. Information We Collect
4.1 Information You Provide
